		<description>Congratulations to Salman Rushdie for winning the 2008 Best of the Booker award.  Midnight&#039;s Children received 36% of the popular vote.  But what took second?  I can understand that when awarding the Booker Prize there is no runner up, but why not here?  How close was the runners-up?  With Rushdie taking over 1/3 of the votes, it is unlikely another book came too close, but it is possible.  I&#039;d like to know, if anyone can enlighten me.</description>
