This one is next up in my Sebald reading. I read The Rings of Saturn a while back and thought it was fabulous. Thanks for the review — I’m looking forward to experiencing it for myself!

In an effort to give each Sebald book its due attention, I’m thinking I’ll wait a while before I read Rings of Saturn and then a while again before I read Austerlitz, though I’m not sure I’ll succeed — I really enjoyed this book and already am anxious to move to the next one.

I got very excited about Sebald when I read Austerlitz and immediately went out and read all the rest. This one ended up leaving the least impression (I think that says more about me than it does about the book) so I very much appreciate this review as a reminder. Having said that, I can’t wait until you get to Austerlitz — it is a very special novel.
