The Story Prize

The Story Prize is an annual prize awarded to an author of an oustanding collection of short stories.  It’s worth $20,000 to the winner and $5,000 to the two other finalists.  Books must be written in English and published in the United State during the relevant calendar year.

That’s quite a winning purse for an award that, from what I know, gets little publicity (and no sponsor’s name in the title).
