It’s always a great deal of fun, and it’s always — for me in particular — very insightful, to discuss films with the folks over at The CriterionCast. This episode I joined host Scott Nye and my Eclipse Viewer co-host David Blakeslee to discuss Dino Risi’s 1962 film, Il Sorpasso, a film I hadn’t seen before preparing for this episode but that I’m now a big fan of.
The film stars Vittorio Gassman and Jean-Louis Trintignant and is called an Italian road comedy, though there’s much more to it than that. Highly recommended!
I hope you enjoy the conversation.

An enormously fun film until it isn’t. And what great music!
I agree! I loved the music, both because it is trite and catchy and fun — just the kind of music that is perfect for a summer holiday :-) .
