Paul and I intend to release a new episode every two weeks on Thursday, so here we are with Episode 2! In this episode we talk about short stories and each get a chance to talk about some favorites.
A few years ago I recorded myself reading one of the stories I bring up, so I’ve included it here as Episode 3. Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky’s story “Quadraturin,” translated from the Russian by Joanne Turnbull, is presented here in its entirety with permission from NYRB Classics. You can find this and many more of his stories in their editions.
The Mookse and the Gripes Podcast is a book chat podcast. Every few weeks we are talking about some bookish topic or another.
Please join us! You can subscribe at Apple podcasts or go to the feed to import to your favorite podcatcher. You can also listen to us on YouTube, if that’s your thing (though I’m still trying to figure that out, so be patient if there are some strange uploads and re-uploads).
We have a lot of episodes recorded already, so the plan is to keep this going bi-weekly for as long as we can stand it . . . and I think we’ll be able to keep going for a long time.
Many thanks to those who helped make this possible! If you’d like to donate as well, please visit our Patreon page.
