\"Akenfield\"If you don\u2019t know about it already, there is a GoodReads group dedicated to NYRB Classics (see here<\/span><\/strong><\/a>). I\u2019m a moderator, and I\u2019ve done a lot of work to ensure there is a thread dedicated to each and every book, and I continue to work to keep track of forthcoming releases (see my list here<\/span><\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

The most active portion of the group, though is the\u00a0book club. Members select a book each month and then discuss it. Sometimes there is a lot of discussion, and sometimes things dry up, as tends to be the case with these things. I know that we\u2019d love to have more interested readers come aboard and share their thoughts and engage with the books!<\/p>\n

This month, the group is reading one of my favorite releases of the year, indeed, one of my favorite NYRB Classics releases ever: Ronald Blythe’s Akenfield: Portrait of an English Village<\/em>. Here<\/span><\/strong><\/a> is the main thread, and here is the NYRB Classics blurb:<\/p>\n
