\"MayThough her novels\u00a0Arcadia<\/em> and, in particular, Fates and Furies<\/em> (President Obama’s favorite book of 2015; see here<\/a>) have been recommended, I’m only familiar with Groff’s short fiction that has been published in The New Yorker<\/em>, and not a lot has been. Her first New Yorker piece, “Above and Below,” arrived in the 2011 summer fiction issue. At the time I wrote (here<\/a>) that she was relatively unknown (I’m glad for her that that is not the case this time around), and I thought the story was particularly strong. Her second New Yorker piece, “Ghosts and Empties” (our post here<\/a>),\u00a0came last year. I didn’t like that one nearly as much.<\/p>\n
