The Criterion Collection announced what they’re releasing in June 2023. As seems to be the pattern these days, we get a couple of new releases and a couple of UHD upgrades (one of one of the greatest films ever made) — but this time we also get a new big box set!<\/p>\n

The film has had a tumultuous history: it was subjected to cuts after the violent response of the audience at its 1939 premiere, and the original negative was destroyed during World War II; it wasn\u2019t reconstructed until 1959. That version, which has stunned viewers for decades, is presented here.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n
