Only five of the thirteen titles are currently available in your U.S. bookstore (maybe).\u00a0Most of the others have publication dates in the next few months, but there are a few that didn&#8217;t seem to have any publication plans in the United States.\u00a0Perhaps now.\u00a0Perhaps only if they make the shortlist at this point.\u00a0So, if you&#8217;re from the United States and want to join in the thrill of the Booker Prize season by reading all of the longlisted titles in the next few months, you&#8217;ll have to go to the UK to get your orders.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the thirteen longlisted titles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter Carey:<strong> <em>Parrot and Olivier in America<\/em><\/strong> (available now)<\/li>\n<li>Emma Donaghue: <em><strong>Room<\/strong> <\/em>(available September 13)<\/li>\n<li>Helen Dunmore: <strong><em>The Betrayal<\/em> <\/strong>(availability in\u00a0U.S. unknown)<\/li>\n<li>Damon Galgut: <em><strong>In a Strange Room<\/strong> <\/em>(available on Kindle only; other U.S. availability unknown)<\/li>\n<li>Howard Jacobson: <strong><em>The Finkler Question<\/em> <\/strong>(availability in\u00a0U.S. unknown)<\/li>\n<li>Andrea Levy:<strong><em> The Long Song<\/em> <\/strong>(available now)<\/li>\n<li>Tom McCarthy: <em><strong>C<\/strong> <\/em>(available September 7)<\/li>\n<li>David Mitchell: <strong><em>The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet<\/em> <\/strong>(available now)<\/li>\n<li>Lisa Moore: <strong><em>February<\/em> <\/strong>(available now)<\/li>\n<li>Paul Murray:<em><strong> Skippy Dies<\/strong> <\/em>(available August 31)<\/li>\n<li>Rose Tremain: <strong><em>Trespass<\/em> <\/strong>(available October 18)<\/li>\n<li>Christos Tsiolkas: <strong><em>The Slap<\/em> <\/strong>(available now)<\/li>\n<li>Alan Warner: <strong><em>The Stars in the Bright Sky<\/em> <\/strong>(availability in\u00a0U.S. unknown)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At this point I have read only two: <em><a title=\"Mookse Review of Parrot and Olivier in America\" href=\"http:\/\/mookseandgripes.com\/reviews\/2010\/07\/25\/peter-carey-parrot-and-olivier-in-america\/\" target=\"_self\">Parrot and Olivier in America<\/a><\/em> and <em><a title=\"Mookse Review of The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet\" href=\"http:\/\/mookseandgripes.com\/reviews\/2010\/06\/28\/david-mitchell-the-thousand-autumns-of-jacob-de-zoet\/\" target=\"_self\">The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet<\/a><\/em>, both expected to make the longlist easily, though I thought both of them less than wonderful, if good in some ways. I don&#8217;t know how involved I&#8217;ll get this year.\u00a0I have Lisa Moore&#8217;s <em>February<\/em>, so I&#8217;ll get to that one.\u00a0McCarthy&#8217;s<em>\u00a0 C<\/em> on its way from Knopf.
