The winners have been announced:
- Fiction: Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, by Ben Fountain
- Nonfiction: Far From the Tree: Parents, Children, and the Search for Identity, by Andrew Solomon
- Autobiography: Swimming Studies, by Leanne Sharpton
- Criticism: Stranger Magic, by Marina Warner
- Biography: The Passage of Power, by Robert Caro
- Poetry: Useless Landscape, or A Guide for Boys, by D.A. Powell
Stranger Magic is an excellent book in my opinion, and it absolutely deserved the award!
I haven’t read the others yes, but I certainly will in the near future. Although I’ve seen Far From the Tree receive a lot of flame about the author biting off more than he can chew, and the books language seeming forced and needy? Strange to see that about a book on such a sensitive topic.
Thanks for announcing the winners!
