2014 Independent Foreign Fiction Prize Winner

The Independent Foreign Fiction Prize was awarded to:

  • The Iraqi Christ, by Hassan Blasim, translated from the Arabic by Jonathan Wright

The judges also gave a special mention to The Mussel Feast, by Birgit Vanderbeke, translated from the German by Jamie Bulloch.

The Shadow Jury gave their award to The Sorrow of Angels, by Jón Kalman Stefansson, translated from the Icelandic by Philip Roughton. You can read about their choice here on Chairman Stu’s blog.
