They’ve just announced the winner of this year’s Man Booker Prize:
- Bring Up the Bodies, by Hilary Mantel
I’m a bit surprised, but good for her for winning her second Man Booker Prize. She is only the third novelist to do it, following Peter Carey and J.M. Coetzee (who should have already won another one or two).
Congratulations to Mantel. Will Self deserved it this time but Mantel was the safe choice (compromise? It’ll be interesting to find out) so no real surprises.
