The winner of this years Man Booker Prize is A Brief History of Seven Killings, by Marlon James!
He is the first Jamaican born writer to win the prize! Lee is working up a review of this book, so we’ll have some coverage soon. In the meantime, I know many will be happy with this decision, so we’d all do well to read the book!
You can go see the discussion of the book on the Mookse and the Gripes forum here.
The right choice, Trevor! And how often can we say that about the Booker?! I’ll have that review over ASAP…
I would love to have joined in on the forum but i registered and never heard back. How can i get a working logon to post there?
Hi Paul, it’s a bit of a tough thing, and I apologize for that. I get so much spam there that I only look if someone has told me to. I’ll go see if I can find you and grant you access. If I can’t see you, I’ll send you an email and we can get you in.
Apologies that it will be after the season!
Thanks. If I had joined in in time, I think my votes would have changed the jury’s outcome and maintained your proud record of picking the right winner, as I had James 1st and Sahota only 3rd! Mind you, last year I may have had the opposite effect.
