It’s Thursday and also the first days of Fall! To celebrate, Paul and I talk about why fall is the absolute best season and what kinds of books we might recommend — and want to read — to really take advantage of this time of year.
Also: there is a GIVEAWAY! Please listen to the portion where I do a bit of book trivia and let you know how to enter to win a copy of Kjell Askildsen’s Everything Like Before, translated by Seán Kinsella and recently published by Archipelago Books! The drawing will happen on the morning of Saturday, October 2, so listen and get your entry in!
Also: Instead of listing all of the books we mention here in this post, I am putting a link to Bookshop.org, where you can see the list. I recommend listening first so you don’t get spoiled!
We hope you enjoy this episode!
The Mookse and the Gripes Podcast is a book chat podcast. Every few weeks we are talking about some bookish topic or another.
Please join us! You can subscribe at Apple podcasts or go to the feed to import to your favorite podcatcher. You can also listen to us on YouTube, if that’s your thing (though I’m still trying to figure that out, so be patient if there are some strange uploads and re-uploads).
We have a lot of episodes recorded already, so the plan is to keep this going bi-weekly (with some dropping weekly) for as long as we can stand it . . . and I think we’ll be able to keep going for a long time.
Many thanks to those who helped make this possible! If you’d like to donate as well, please visit our Patreon page. We have been reworking the Patreon, and I’m excited that I figured out how to get Patreon subscribers early access to our episodes! Every supporter has their own feed that he or she can use in their podcast app of choice to download our episodes a few days early. We are also working on bonus episodes for certain tiers, since we really want to show our thanks. Please go check it out!
I love your podcast! But I have a suggestion…. Could you please post the names of the books you chat about? I just can’t remember the few I want to check out!
Thanks
Hi Linda — thanks! I forgot to link to it, but I have put together a Bookshop.org list of the main books we talk about. It’s hard to go through and list each little book we mention off the cuff, but I do intend to link to the list of the main books on Bookshop! I’ll edit the post above to link to the list, but in the meantime: Here is the list!!
