This year’s winner of the Folio Prize is:
- Family Life, by Akhil Sharma
This beat out a strong list of books (see the finalists here), and we need to get a review up.
Sharma is an author I know only through a few short stories published in The New Yorker (“We Didn’t Like Him,” thoughts here; and “A Mistake,” thoughts here). I enjoyed each of them. Family Life is his second novel, following An Obedient Father from 2000, which won the PEN/Hemingway Award.
You can read a review of Family Life by Kim at Reading Matters here.
I have An Obedient Father. I had no idea this was the same author. As you said, you must get a review up!
